Sebastian Knauer made his concert debut at the young age of 14. Today he looks back on a 30-year career in which he has given concerts in over 50 countries on 4 continents. In addition to concerts in the Berlin Philharmonic and the Wigmore Hall in London, he also enchanted his audience at the Lincoln Center in New York, the National Center for Performing Arts in Beijing and the Harris Theater in Chicago.

He is also a welcome guest at national and international festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival, in Montreux or the Beethoven Festival in Bonn. Sebastian Knauer has not only been successful as a solo artist for several years, he has also performed with many successful colleagues such as the Emerson String Quartet, the Philharmonia Quartet Berlin, the Dresden Staatskapelle, the NDR Symphony Orchestra, the singers Anne Sofie von Otter and Simon Kermes and much more! The diverse repertoire is shown by the meanwhile 15 CD releases by Sebastian Knauer. In 2017 Sebastian Knauer was awarded the Klassik Echo for his CD "OBERBACH". In addition to many other published recordings, the piano concerto "This is (not) Beethoven" rose to number 6 in the German classical music charts and to number 15 in the US Biilboard Charts in August 2020. Sebastian Knauer is not only extremely involved in the musical field, but also his great interest in world politics and his engagement for charitable purposes.

The pianist Sebastian Knauer is planning a very special project for 2021, thereby fulfilling a long-cherished wish for his upcoming 50th birthday: The internationally acclaimed composer Michael Nyman was commissioned by Sebastian Knauer to compose 6 piano pieces for him, which will be closely related to the sonatas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

In doing so, he combines two of his very esteemed composers and at the same time builds a musical bridge between the 18th and the 21st century. Sebastian Knauer made his concert debut at the young age of 14. Today he looks back on a 30-year career in which he has given concerts in over 50 countries on 4 continents. Sebastian Knauer's 15 CD releases show his diverse repertoire.
